John Albert Black (1886-1951), 65, of Palatka died Sunday in a local hospital following a lengthy illness. he was a native of Warsaw, Kentucky, moving to Palatka six years ago from Cincinnati, Ohio. Until his retirement he was connected with the Balck Trucking Co., of Franklin, Ohio.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Dollie Y. Black, one daughter, Miss Doris Black of Palatka; three sons, Cecil and John Black of Palatka, and Paul Black, of Mt. Dora, Florida; two sisters, Mrs. Nora Mathews and Mrs. Bernice Wallick of Rising Sun, Ind.; three brothers, S. J. and C. O. Black of Franklin, Ohio, and Walter Black, of New Albany, Ind., and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Witt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. W. F. Oddy officiating. Interment will be made in Oak Hill East Cemetery. (Palatka Daily News Obituary, Monday, 19 Mar 1951.)
