Anthony Herman Waldman, 87, a retired Winona farmer and rancher, died early Tuesday morning at his home at Cottonwood, apparently of a heart attack.

He was born Aug. 14, 1902, at Greencreek to Clem and Margaret Schaeffer Waldman. He attended school at Greencreek and farmed with his father until he married Mary E. Wassmuth March 26, 1940, at Greencreek. They purchased a farm at Winona, where they lived and worked until their retirement in 1967, when they moved to Cottonwood.

He enjoyed sports, especially baseball and bowling. He also enjoyed dancing. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church at Cottonwood and a member of St. Anthony's Society and the Greencreek Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife at the family home at Cottonwood; two brothers, and three sisters. *Names omitted per Find-A-Grave policy.

Two brothers and a sister died previously.

Rosary will be recited at 8:15 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church at Cottonwood. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's. The Rev. Joseph Muha will officiate. Burial will follow at Greencreek Community Cemetery.
