WOODBRIDGE — Funeral services for Walter V. Thompson, Jr., 26, 188 Rowland Place, who died suddenly Monday night while at choir rehearsal at the Methodist Church, Main Street, will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at his home. Burial will be in the Cloverleaf Park Cemetery.

The young man had been rehearsing all evening with the choir, which was planning a candlelight service Sunday afternoon, when suddenly lie complained of a severe headache and slumped to the floor. He was taken to the parsonage and despite the efforts of Dr. I. T. Spencer and the Woodbridge Emergency Squad to revive him, he died a half hour later. Death, according to Coroner James J. Flynn, Jr., was due to cerebral apoplexy.

Mr. Thompson was a veteran of. World War II, having served as a technician, third grade with the Medical Corps in the European and Middle East theatres of war. On December 29, 1945, shortly after his discharge, he married the former Sally Stauffer in the church in which he was stricken.

Besides his widow, Mr. Thompson is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter V. Thompson, Philadelphia.

Out of respect to Mr. Thompson, Rev. Frederick W. Poppy, pastor of the church, announced that the candlelight service has been cancelled and the Woman's Society of Christian Service also cancelled its Christmas party which was scheduled for last night.
