Johnny Powell Brewer, 81, passed away November 3, 2012 in Alice. He was born September 10, 1931 in Merkel, Texas to Raymond and Lola Mae Brewer.
He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1953 and was an Army veteran serving in Korea. Mr. Brewer was Chief of Purchasing for Hunt Oil and Penrod Drilling for 32 years and owned Coyote Quick Lube in Alice, Texas. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alice and was active in Lions and Rotary Club and the Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Bernice Brewer.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Brewer of Alice; two daughters, Shirley (Don) Nichols of Mesquite and Danita (Jimmy) Kelsey of Cleburne; two sons, David (Cheryl) Brewer of Alice and Randal (Sherry) Brewer of Wills Point; two sisters, Venice Elmore and Brenda Summers; one brother, A. C. Brewer; 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 10:00am, Friday, October 9, 2012 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Ernie McCoulskey officiating. Interment will follow at College Mound Cemetery. The familiy will recieve friends from 5-7pm, Thursday evening at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Funeral home in Terrell.
