Dan Evans, 81, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Westcliff Bible Church with Dr. Steven Waterhouse, pastor, officiating. Graveside services and burial will be at 4 p.m. Monday in DeBolt Cemetery in Arnett, Okla. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Martin Road Chapel, 15th Avenue and Martin Road.

Mr. Evans was born June 10, 1923, in Lankershim, Calif. He lived most of his life in Amarillo. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was serving on the USS Pennsylvania and was in Pearl Harbor when it was bombed. Mr. Evans was a roofer by trade, having started and owned West Roofing Co. at one time. He married Wynola on March 20, 1971, in Corpus Christi and was a member of Westcliff Bible Church.

Mr. Evans loved being with his family and drinking coffee with the boys every morning.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mary Carlotta Sims of Mesquite; two nephews, Gary Harbison of Granbury and Robbie Harbison of Lubbock; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Westcliff Bible Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1521, Amarillo, TX 79105.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
