David Lee Gilbert, 65, of Hendersonville, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022.
David was a lifelong resident of Hendersonville, NC. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Gilbert and his father, Floyd Gilbert.
He is survived by his son, David Ray Gilbert; granddaughter, Sierra; mother, Georgia Clark; two brothers, Ronnie Gilbert (Susan), Eddie Gilbert (Denise); father-in-law, Earnest Ruff; brothers-in-law, Waldon Ruff (Debbie); Robert Ruff, Tommie Ruff (Angela); sister-in-law, Connie Laughter (Jeff); several nieces and nephews. He truly loved his family.
David made a career of truck driving. He loved it. He loved the open road and was good at his job. He worked hard his whole life. His main hobby was horseback riding. He loved horses. David also had so many friends, he never met a stranger. He will be remembered forever for the smile on his face and love in his heart. We will miss him so much.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 22, 2022 at In Jesus Name Church. The Reverend Dale Gilbert will officiate.The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the service at Mountain Home Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Mark Gilbert, Jacob Laughter, Mark Nix, Charlie Dalton, Cotton Dalton, Allen Camron.
