'Uncle Andy' as he was familiarly called, was born in Germany and came to this country with his parents in an early day. In the year 1854 the family came to this country and settled on a farm a few miles north of this city, where the subject of this sketch had made his home until about two years ago when he purchased a little cottage at the corner of Fifth and Maple Streets, and he and his aged wife moved to town.
Mr. Speck was the father of several children, only two of whom are living.
The funeral occurred at the German Church Tuesday afternoon. Interment at Maple Ridge Cemetery.
