Steiss, Jean E. - At St. Mary's General Hospital, in Kitchener, on Sunday, April 15, 2001, age 77 years, of Waterloo. Loved mother of Janet Steiss of Auburn, Alabama and Debbie Steiss and her husband Ron Williamson of Toronto. She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Thomas and Austin Yuill and two brothers, Murray Schneider and his wife Beverly of Owen Sound and Harry Schneider and his wife Grace of Elmira and many cherished nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Erle Steiss in 1955; parents, Edna Lichty and Herbert Schneider and sister, Wilma Wilhelm; brother, Melford and infant sister, Joy. Jean was a member of Emmanuel United Church, Waterloo and volunteered for 25 years for Meals on Wheels. Jean's family will receive friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today (Tuesday). The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Wednesday, April 18, 2001, 11 a.m. with Rev. Heidi Sievert officiating. Interment in Hillside Cemetery Heidelberg. Donations to St. Mary's General Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
