"Arthur John Libbert, 81, Laurie, died Feb. 2, 2003, at his home. He was born July 3, 1921, in Meta, a son of Theodore and Elizabeth Bax Libbert. He was married May 9, 1951, in Meta, to Lucille Deeken, who survives at the home. He was a farmer in the Koeltztown area and worked at DeLong's in Jefferson City and Sedalia for 26 years until his retirement to the Lake of the Ozarks. He was a member of the Shrine of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Laurie.
Other survivors include: two sons, Roger Libbert, Sedalia, and Dale Libbert, Columbia; two daughters, Dr. Evelyn Jorgenson, Moberly, and Ruth Palasi, Sedalia; three brothers, Ralph Libbert, Russellville, Lawrence Libbert, St. Charles and Jerome Libbert, Barnett; two sisters, Mathilda Schwartze, Argyle, and Mary Ann Wieberg, Rich Fountain; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Meta. The Rev. John Schutty will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Rekus Funeral Home, Meta, with a prayer service at 6 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Arthritis Foundation or the American Cancer Society."

He had cancer in various spots. A long time ago he had stomach cancer, then lately prostate and then bone etc. He died peacefully at home
