Yvonne Melton Mayo, 94, of Dresden, died Monday, January 21, 2008, at Weakley County Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Dresden. Graveside services for Mrs. Mayo were held Thursday, January 24, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Cemetery in Dresden. Tom Mayo and Bro. Brian Crow officiated the services.
Mrs. Mayo was a housewife and a member of the Weakley County Church of Christ in Dresden. She was born in Dresden to the late Carl Lee and Bessie Leone Parham Melton. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mayo was also preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Bill T. Mayo; three sisters, Rachel Johnson, Ruth Buckley, and Virginia Melton; and a brother, Mark Melton.
Mrs. Mayo is survived by three daughters, Jeanne Burch of Dresden, Grace (Glynn) Parker of Dresden, and Judith (Tommy) Bradberry of Dresden; two sons, Tom (Sandra) Mayo of Dresden, and Jimmy (Kay) Mayo of Austin, Texas; twenty-one grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
