Funeral services were held at Forked Oak Church for Mr. William B. McCoy on 22 February when a large crowd of sorrowing friends and relatives gathered to pay their last tributes. Bro. W. L. Robinson, pastor of the First Methodist Church in Booneville, conducted the services.

Mr. McCoy was seventy-six years old, having been born in Monroe County, 27 October 1862. When a boy of thirteen he came with his father, William H. McCoy and his brothers and sisters to Prentiss County, The family settled in the eastern part of the county, where the McCoys have been well known ever since. Since early manhood Mr. McCoy had been a member of the Methodist Church and had practiced high principles of honesty and unselfishness toward his fellowman.

He was making his home with Mr. Wadney McCoy at the time of his death. His beloved wife had passed away just four months before the date of his death. Three other sons survive, Lee, John and Houston all of the Mississippi Delta. He also leaves three brothers, Otis of Jumpertown, Arthur of Burton and Tom of New Site,

Two sisters, Mrs. S. C. Wilson of New Site and Mrs. Anne Chase; three half-sisters, Mrs. Alma Sparks and Mrs. Pealie Gray of New Site and Mrs. Belva Dickson of Marietta. Another sister, Mrs. J. C. Robinson passed away Sunday Afternoon.

Funeral arrangements were in charge of L. P. Allen and Son of Belmont.
