Saturday afternoon Ronald, the 6-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Dickinson was killed while coasting with his sled on the highway near the city dumping ground entrance. The boy was struck by a car, presumably an army Plymouth from the CCC camp south of town. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Reynolds, who were near the scene of the accident, picked the child up and brought him to the hospital where he died within a few hours. His head was badly crushed and it is believed the wheels of the car passed over the little boy's head. The boy had been visiting his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Strong and went out into the highway to coast down a gradual grade. The unfortunate accident has been investigated to some extend. The funeral was held from the Methodist church.
