SPOKANE Adolph Joseph Arnzen, a lifelong Greencreek farmer and rancher, died of a heart attack Friday at Sacred Heart Medical Center at Spokane. He was 85.

He was born Feb. 26, 1909, at Greencreek to John and Catherine Dasenbrock Arnzen. He grew up and attended schools at Greencreek, and married Louise M. Schumacher Oct. 18, 1932. The couple farmed and ranched a mile south of Greencreek, and later moved to the Dasenbrock homestead, four miles west of Greencreek. His wife died March 20, 1993.

He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church at Greencreek, and the St. Anthony's Society. He enjoyed horseback riding, woodworking and watching sports.

Survivors include four sons, two daughters, a sister, 21 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. *Survivors names omitted per Findagrave policy.

Four brothers, Albert, Richard, Leonard and John, and a sister, Philomena Wemhoff, died previously.

A vigil and rosary recital will be at 7 p.m. tonight at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Greencreek.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony's, with the Rev. Canisius Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at the Greencreek Community Cemetery.

Uhlorn Funeral Home at Cottonwood is handling the arrangements.
