W. W. ATKINSON IS LAID TO REST

Funeral services for William Wiley Atkinson, 24, who was killed in an automobile collision near Greenwood Monday, were conducted yesterday afternoon at Broadway Baptist Church by the Rev. Andrew Hartley, pastor. Interment was in Olympia cemetary.

Mr Atkinson was a star athlete in the Pacific community. Shortly after the World War he served in the Navy. He was for seven years a switchman for the Southern Railway and for some time was employed by Pacific Mills.
He is survived by his widow; two children, Peggy and Edward Atkinson; three sisters. Mrs. Lillian Ready, Mrs. Ada Ready and Mrs. Blanche Mills, all of Columbia, and several nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers for his funeral were; John L. Easterling; W.B. Tate, C.B. Kelly, J.B. Cameron, W.C. Stanley and Louie McMahan.

Honorary pallbearers were; Dr. J.D. Dillard, Dr. W.E. Fulmer, Dr. J.D. Morehead , Dr. L.O. Sawyer, Dr. Gordon M. Spigner, W.M. Easterling, Dr. Luke Norton and H.A. Shipp.
