Maggie Lakes was the 6th of 15 children born to John and Hannah Morris Lakes in Jackson County Kentucky. She married James H. Fox on Feb. 13, 1890 in Jackson County Ky. To this union was born 2 children, Henderson and Martha. James Fox died in 1895 and Maggie married Samuel Baker on Feb. 17, 1898 in Jackson County Ky. To this union was born 6 children, Charles, Chester, Elisha, Sudie, Dorothy and David. They moved from Jackson County in approx. 1903 and settled in the Brassfield area of Madison County Ky. Sam and Maggie owned the farm on which this cemetery is located. It was started in their backyard with the burial of their son, David.
