Walter, of Northfield, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday.

He proudly served with the U.S. Army during World War II during which he was awarded the Purple Heart.

He worked for many years as an auto mechanic in North Jersey and later in his own shop and for the Northfield Road Dept. He was a true car lover and enjoyed traveling to car shows all over the country. He was also an avid bowler and enjoyed traveling. He assisted in C.C.D. at St Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. church with the 3 year old class for many years and was a member of the South Jersey Regional Gateway Theatre in Somers Point.

He was survived by his loving wife Dorothy H. Johnston-Banzy; his sister Evelyn Dianuzzo; his cousins Kim (Dave) Goerlich and their children, Devon, Kyra and Alex and cousins Cindy (Robert) Joskowiak and their son Christian; his dear friends; Michael and Michelle Balesteri, Carol Raph and family, David Hermann, Father Francis Kim and Deacon Joseph Becker of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. church and Father Cosme del Pena formerly of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church, New Jersey Avenue in Absecon, New Jersey. Interment is private at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C.
