Jacob Olson was born in Moe township, Douglas county, on Dec. 1, 1902, the son of Jacob and Anna Olson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and has been an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran church all his life. He also held several offices in the church. Mr. Olson also served in World War II.

He died Friday, Aug. 16, 1968 at Our Lady of Mercy hospital in Alexandria, at the age of 65 years. He is survived by one brother, Hjalmer, or Moe township. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Isaac and one brother, Oscar; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Pippo and Mrs. Hilma Keinanen, and his parents.

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 19, 1968 at 3:30 p.m. from St. Paul's Lutheran church, Moe township, the Rev. Bruce Brinkman officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were John Pippo, Carl Frederickson, Roy Pippo, Edward Malwitz, Verner Haabala, Reuben Olson. Military honors were conducted.
