Funeral services for Miss Linda L. Johnson of Holmes City were held Friday, Nov. 30, at 1 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home and at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran church of Moe township. Rev. H. L. Sprengeler officiated. Pallbearers were three cousins, one brother-in-law and two nephews. These were Melvin Johnson, Verner Johnson, Willie Johnson, John Bursaw, Carroll Yager and Roger Blanchard. Interment was made in St Paul's cemetery.

Miss Johnson was taken ill on the morning of Nov. 24 and passed away Sunday evening, Nov. 25, at the Douglas County Hospital. She was 58 years, 8 months and 2 days of age.

Linda Luvina Johnson was born March 23, 1898, in Holmes City township, the daughter of Edward and Laura Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and she has always made her home with her parents. The Johnson family farmed in Holmes City township until 1921 when they moved to Ashtabula, Ohio, which was their residence for five years. They came back to Minnesota and resided in Richwood for a short time and then moved back to Holmes City which has been Miss Johnson's home with the exception of a short period of time spent in California. Miss Johnson was a faithful daughter who devoted much of her life to caring for her parents and since the death of her father two years ago has been taking care of her invalid mother.

She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Laura Johnson of Holmes City, four sisters and two brothers. These are: Mrs. Nina Harrison of Los Angeles, Calif; Edwin of Hoffman; Mrs. Gerald (Winnie) Bitzan of East Chicago, Ill.; Ellsworth of E. Gary, Ind.; Mrs. John (Gladys) Bursaw of Minneapolis; Mrs. Lloyd (LaRenza) Chadbourn of Baghdad, Iraq. Also surviving is one uncle, Jack Johnson of Holmes City. She was preceded in death by her father, one sister, Lillian, and one brothers, Wallace.
