William F. "Ted" Harper, 84, of Fay Park Drive, North Syracuse, died Monday at home.

Born in Oswego, he retired as a salesman with the Schaefer Brewing Co. He was a charter member, grand knight and district deputy for Bishop Curley Knights of Columbus Council 3717. He also was past faithful navigator of the Monsignor Jeremiah McCarthy Assembly, North Syracuse, and also received several awards and honors for various service actvities, including the Distinguished Service Award in 1997. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, North Syracuse, and a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors: His wife of 13 years, the former Ester M. DeRienzo; two daughters, Mary C. Nadeau of Cicero and Jean Intartaglia of Newtown, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Susan Derbyshire; a brother, the Rev. John J. of Southern Pines, N.C.; several grandchildren.

Services: 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Fergerson Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church. Burial, Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay. Calling hours, 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, 215 S. Main St., North Syracuse.
