Gerald J. Duffy, 58 of 401 Turin St., died at his home early today after an illness of two years.
He was born June 10, 1909, in Watertown. son of George and Catherine Burke Duffy. He was educated in Watertown schools and attended Notre Dame University and Manhattan College in New York City.
Mr. Duffy was a Navy veteran of World War II.
On April 14, 1934, in Holy Family Church, Watertown he married the former Helen McLellan. From 1934, when he came to Rome, until 1939 he was employed by Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., and subsequently in the transportation department at Griffiss AFB.
He was a member of St Peter's Church.
Surviving with his wife are a son. Gerald G. Duffy, East Lansing St., Mich; a daughter. Mrs: Robert C.(Jean) O'Brien, Rochester; five grandchildren; a brother. William Duffy, Cortland and a sister, Mrs Donald (Rosalind) Clark, Meriden, Conn.
Funeral services will be held the Thomas A. Cox Funeral, Home, Thursday at 8:15 and at St. Peters Church at 9 when solemn requiem high Mass will be celebrated. Interment will be at St- Peter's Cemetery.
