George Harry Reeve, born July 15, 1920, to Nelson and Elsie Reeve in Torrance, Calif., passed away at home on Friday, June 27, 2008.

Following graduation from John Marshall High School in Los Angeles in 1939, George worked at Warner Brothers Studios in Special Effects. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1943 and, while stationed at Farragut Naval Training Center, met Loretta Lustig at the USO in Spokane. They were married May 15, 1944, in Norman, Okla., where he was an aviation instructor. Following World War II, George and Loretta lived in Clarkston and were actively involved in Holy Family Catholic Parish. They moved to Spokane in 1965, and were members of Our Lady of Fatima.

Loretta died in 1997 after 54 years of marriage. In 1998 George moved to Heritage Place in Coeur d'Alene and became a member of St. Thomas Parish. George was a salesman and a lifetime entertainer who truly enjoyed people. He often sang for special events.

George is survived by three sons, three daughters, 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; one brother and four sisters.

Family was very important to George. For the past years of his life, he published a family newsletter that always began: "Other things may change us, but we start and end with family."

Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas Catholic Parish, Coeur d'Alene. Family suggests donations to North Idaho Hospice or North Idaho College Foundation.
