STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Rosalie Capuano, 79, of Great Kills, a retired seamstress who was always ready to lend a helping hand, died Oct. 31 at home.

Born Rosalie Lentini in Palermo, Italy, she moved to the United States in 1949 and settled in Brooklyn. She relocated to Great Kills in 1973.

A graduate of New Dorp High School, Mrs. Capuano was a pattern seamstress for Vittorio Ricci, located in Manhattan's garment district. She retired in 1990.

She was a parishioner of St. Charles R.C. Church, Oakwood, where she was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

"My mother was a very proud and good person who was fond of telling the truth. She would offer her assistance at any time it was needed," said her daughter, Christina Capuano.

In addition to her daughter, Christina, Mrs. Capuano is survived by two sons, John and Frank; a brother, Sebastian Lentini; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements, including cremation, are being handled by the Meislohn-Silvie Funeral Home, Port Richmond. A memorial mass is planned for a later date
