HHD 23rd CML BN KOREAMatthew was a lifelong Plainfield resident and a graduate of Plainfield High School Class of 2001 where he was a member of the Football team as offensive right tackle, #79. He then attended Joliet Junior College and McKendree College. As an active member of the United States Armed Forces he had served in the Army in Korea with the HHD 23rd Chemical Battalion. He was a certified EMT and a volunteer fire fighter and a member of I.U.O.E #150 and the Laborers Union Local #75. Matt was employed by Bob Baish Excavating as a laborer, and formerly employed by the Layne-Western Construction Company as an operating engineer. He loved camping, fishing and the outdoors, especially those days on the DuPage River with his friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Vernon and Hazeldel Wiley. Matthew died as the result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident at age 24.Wiley, Matthew T.

Age 24. Suddenly Sunday, January 28, 2007 in Morris, IL, as the result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Born in Naper-ville, he was a lifelong Plainfield resident. Attended Joliet Junior College, McKendree College and was a graduate of Plainfield High School Class of 2001. A member of the Plainfield High School Football team as offensive right tackle, #79. He was the recipient of many awards. An active member of the U.S. Armed Forces. As a member of the United States Army, he had served in Korea with the HHD 23rd Chemical Battalion. He was a certified EMT and a volunteer fire fighter. Member of I.U.O.E #150 and the Laborers Union Local #75. Survived by his parents, Thomas and Susan (nee Domanus) Wiley of Plainfield; his loving and devoted sister, Jennifer Wiley of Plainfield; his maternal grandparents, James and Mary Domanus of Plainfield; four aunts, numerous cousins, buddies for life, and a host of many special friends.

Matthew T. Wiley will Lie in State on Friday, February 2, 2007 at the Plainfield Congregational U.C.C. at Route 59 and Fraiser Road from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Nancy Pfaltzgraf officiating. As it was Matthew's final request, Cremation Rites will be accorded following funeral services. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Matthew T. Wiley Football Scholarship Fund would be appreciated. Interment with full military honors will take place at the Walker Iowa Cemetery at a later date. Visitation Thursday 2-8 p. m. at:
