Dee Slough, age 67, of Clarinda, Iowa, entered into peace Thursday, November 1, 2012 at her home, Clarinda, Iowa.

DeAnna M. Slough was born May 5, 1945 in Clarinda, Iowa, the daughter of Clifford Carmichael and LaMead (Pratt) Carmichael.

She was a life long resident of Clarinda, attending Clarinda Schools and graduating from Clarinda High School in 1963. She continued education at Iowa Western Community College at a later date when her children were older.

Dee was united in marriage on January 16, 1965 to James Slough at Clarinda, Iowa. They were blessed with two sons, Scott and Steve.

Dee worked for Shore Motor Company in sales for over twenty eight years, retiring in 2007. She was a very successful sales person.

Following retirement, she enjoyed working with her friend Betty at Betty's Dream.

Dee was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.

She was also a member of the Clarinda Country Club where she loved to play golf and so enjoyed being with her golfing friends.

She was a past Worthy Advisor of Rainbow.

Dee and Jim enjoyed wintering in Texas.

She loved to cook, always willing to try new recipes and especially liked Italian food and wine.

She enjoyed working around the home with painting and interior decorating.

Her family was her passion and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren.

Dee was a strong willed woman always ready to lend an opinion.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jim Slough of Clarinda, Iowa; sons, Scott Slough and wife Tami of Clarinda, Iowa and Steve Slough and wife Denise of Clarinda; grandchildren, Lindsey Slough and fiancé Ryan Booher, Cree Slough, Jacob Slough, Erin Slough, McKenzie Slough; great grandchild, Brylee Booher; brother, Larry Carmichael and wife Laurie of Grand Island, Nebraska; aunts; nieces; nephews and many, many friends.

Dee will be missed by her loving family and many friends.
Her memory will live on in their hearts. May God grant comfort and peace to those who mourn her passing.
