The death angel hovered over the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. Bruce Jones of Reydon early Tuesday morning near 8 a.m., September 17, 1946 and took from their midst, their first born child.
Kate Ella Jones was born October 27, 1908 near Strong City, Oklahoma and grew to woman hood in Roger Mills County. She was converted at the age of thirteen years and became a member of the Buffalo Baptist Church. From that time on she lived a consecrated Christian life serving her Master faithfully until the end of her life. For the past several years she had been a member of the Magnolia Baptist Church of Crawford, Oklahoma.
She graduated from Cheyenne High School and attended Central State Teachers College at Edmond. She also had some work at Southwestern College at Weatherford. While there she was an enthusiastic worker with the 4-H Club and also with the Home Demonstration Clubs.
On December 5, 1936 she married Landon Hensley of Crawford, Oklahoma. To this union were born four children Wilbur, eight years old, Morris, seven, Lanella, five and Marvin Dean, aged eight months.
Those who mourn her passing besides her immediate family are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.B.Jones of Reydon, five brothers; R.B. of Brazil, Homer of Salem, Oregon, Sam of Bremerton, Washington, Harold, just returned from China, and Billie of Reydon, and five sisters; Hazel Reeder of Amarillo, Texas, Pearl Jones, of Perryton, Texas, Madge Allen, Lorraine Mills and Vesta Lewis all of Sweetwater, Oklahoma. One brother preceded her in death in September 1923; Mr. and Mrs J.T.
