Soviet military pilot, Air Force Guard lieutenant. Son of N. Khrushchev's first marriage with E. Pisareva. He graduated from high school factory training, after went to work in a factory. During school, he received two reprimands Komsomol - one for drunkenness and lack of discipline, the other, strict, - for non-payment of membership fees. In 1935, with Leonid Khrushchev and his common-law wife Esther Naumovna Etinger son Yuri, and then from the Love Sizykh - daughter Julia. In 1935 he became a student of Leonid Balashovskaya pilot school of the Civil Air Fleet, where he graduated in 1937, worked as flight instructor in 1938, and in 1940 he graduated from the Air Force and the school in Engels. In 1939, volunteered for the Red Army was enrolled as a student training course Command Department of the Air Force Academy, but did not continue his studies at the Academy. As soon as the Soviet-Finnish War finished, he asked to countinued at the front, and his request was granted. Made more than thirty combat missions by air Ar-2, bombed the Mannerheim Line. From the first day took part in World War II as part of the 134th Bomber Aviation Regiment, stationed in Andreapolya Kalininskaya oblast, 46th Air Division. He carried out 12 sorties in the summer of 1941, was presented to the Order of the Red Banner. March 11, 1943, Leonid did not return from bombing mission. According to the memoirs of his accompanying pilot V.
