From information supplied by Jack Brummett in his book" James L Boggs--Connecting the Dots", on page 189, Silas was the son of William H Boggs, Sr. and Rebecca Shepherd.

He married Rebecca Agnes Mullins on Dec. 23, 1861. Rebecca was the daughter of David Mullins and Virginia Jane Short.

Silas served in Company B, 7th Battalion, CSA Calvary. Widow Agnes received a "Widow's" Pension, starting in 1912 while she was living on the Pound. She lists her age as 65. She states that she and Silas were married in 1865 by James Hill and that Silas died in 1906 on Bold Camp from consumption. She states that he served under Clarence J. Prentice and Wilburn Fulton and served with R.D. Mullins and J.E.M. Hill, both of Wise, who attested to his service and to his death. R.D Mullins and William Boggs also do affidavits attesting to their having served with Silas Boggs.
