Boies Eugene Mattoon, 37, a longtime resident of Burlington, died at 4:30 a.m. Monday after an extended illness.
Mattoon, a former Burlington cab driver, was born June 1, 1914 at Salem, the son of Leslie and Edith Oglevee Mattoon.
Surviving are a daughter and a son, Dorothy Jean and Boies Melvin Mattoon, both of Des Moines county, a sister, Mrs. Virginia Brewster, West Burlington, and a brother, Warren L. Mattoon, Burlington. One daughter is dead.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Prugh’s chapel with the Rev. Roy Winkelmann officiating. Burial will be in Lone Tree cemetery.
