Dawn Lynn Harris,51, Pueblo West Funeral Home, Pueblo West.

Dawn Lynn Harris, 51, passed away on Oct. 30, 2012. Survived by daughters, Amelie Johnson and Lauryn Last; granddaughters, Natalie and Ella Johnson; aunt, Carol Bongirno; uncle, Lloyd Gross; beloved cousin, Karen Hochstadter; pet, Angel Marie; brother, Bill Gamble and his son, Aaron. Preceded in death by father, Donald Loy Gamble; mother, Virginia Gamble; aunt, Mary Jane Gross; cousins, Kenneth Bongirno, David Gross; and grandson, Thomas Loy Last. Born in 1961 in Pueblo, Colo., Dawn enjoyed life to the fullest. Early years were spent traveling the Middle East with her parents while residing in Ankara, Turkey, before returning to Pueblo, where her father died in 1967. She graduated early from East High School, Class of '78. An intelligent and accomplished pianist, she moved to Aspen, married Flynn Harris and had daughter Amelie prior to moving to Washington, where daughter Lauryn arrived. Loving her work at Nash's Farm in Dungeness, Washington, for over 15 years, greater love of family brought her back to Pueblo to care for her mother. Dawn left us far too soon. We will miss her terribly. She was a young, vibrant woman — kind and funny, passionate about the people, animals and agriculture she loved, and often described as "too smart for her own good." May the times we had with her be lasting memories living on in our hearts forever and always. She did not want a service where the sad come to mourn. Family and friends will be notified in the future for a "Celebration of Dawn's Life." A fund has been set up in her name at any Pueblo Bank & Trust location.
