Robert D. "Dan" Haney, 81, of Springfield, IL, formerly of Springfield, MO, Jacksonville, IL, Naperville, IL, High Bridge, NJ, Oswego, IL, Berkley Heights, NJ, Alton, IL passed away at 9:41 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at his daughter's home in Princeton, IL.
Mr. Haney was born on September 28, 1931 in Chicago to the late Elmore and Patrina Cook Haney, Sr. He was raised in Bureau, IL, and graduated from Hall High School.
Mr. Haney married Mildred Cooney of Jacksonville, IL on July 3, 1965. & she passed away on November 19, 2006.
Mr. Haney is preceded in death by his wife Mildred D. Cooney Haney 19 Nov. 2006 & one brother, Frank Haney.
Mr. Haney is survived by one daughter; three granddaughters; one great grandchild; one brother; & several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Haney served in the US Army during the Korean War
Mr. Haney was a member of the American Legion & the Disabled American Veterans.
Mr. Haney retired after 32 years of service from AT&T where he worked as a manager.
Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Sangamon County Inter-veterans Burial Detail will conduct military honors.
