Mrs. Marilyn Dewayne Gore age 77, of Nakina died Tuesday, November 06, 2012 after an extended illness. She was born June 9, 1935, in Columbus County the daughter of the late O. J. Stanley and Ruby Long Stanley.
Upon her graduation from East Carolina University, Mrs Gore taught at Guideway Elementary School for over thirty years. She was the senior adult Sunday school teacher at Seven Creeks Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Brooks Gore; three daughters, Rhonda Gore Etherden and husband, Graham, of Conway, SC, Donna Gore Bangco and husband, Mario, of Conway, SC, Amy Gore Cox and husband, Tim, of Loris, SC; a son, Mark Gore and wife, Cathy R., of Nakina; three grandchildren, Marilyn Grace Cox, Haley Dewayne Duvall and Gerald Lacoste Duvall III.
Her funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Seven Creeks Baptist Church by Rev. Joe Turner. Interment will be in the Gore Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Peacock Funeral Home.
