Mrs. Jess was born in Douglas County on Nov. 5, 1903, the daughter of Wilhelm and Margaretta Oyie Jess. She worked for Carson Pirie Scott and also formerly worked for Moorhouse & Wells. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
