Mr. Wiley M. Carter, 68, died Tuesday morning (November 6, 2012) at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Carter was a native of Brantley County but had resided most of his life in Waycross. He was a member of Hosanna Church of Christ.
He was a son to the late Ivey E. Carter and Vera Lewis Carter.
Mr. Carter is survived by his wife, JoAnn Carter of Waycross; three children, Wiley M. Carter, Jr. of Waycross, Kim Carter Bennett (husband Craig) of Waycross, and Shannon Carter Dorminey (husband Don) of Millwood; five grandchildren, Katharine Carter, Hunter Dorminey, Hanna Dorminey, Trenton Bennett, and Dalton Bennett; three brothers, Edward Carter of Goliad, TX, Curtis Carter (wife Vickie) of Jonesboro, AR, and Tommy Carter (wife Sandy) of Edgefield, SC; a sister, Ivalyn Hill of Dowling Park, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday (November 9, 2012) at Hosanna Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. Burial will follow in Mars Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Thursday evening at Music Funeral Home from 6 until 8 o'clock.
