Estella C. Pape, 68, of 108 S. Washington St., New Bremen, died at 1:45 A.M. Tuesday (July 31, 1984) at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys, following a three week illness. She was born Jan. 30, 1916 in Minster, the daughter of Frederick and Pauline Ortman Sommer. On June 8, 1940, she married Richard F. Pape, who died Nov. 26, 1965. Survivors include one son, Frederick A. Pape of New Bremen; three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Cordelia Leonard of Piqua, Mrs. Richard (Verona) Thaman of Minster, and Mrs. Bernard (Martha) Massing of Minster; and three brothers, Paul Sommer of Anaheim, Calif., Vernon(Bud) Sommer and Fred Sommer, both of Minster. Mrs. Pape had retired form Crown Controls in New Bremen in 1981 where she had worked for 15 years. She was a member of the Holy Redeemer Church in New Bremen, and the Eagles Auxilliary 1391, Minster. A funeral mass willl be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Redeemer Church with Rev. Carl G. Will officiating. Burial will be in German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen. Friends may call at Gilberg Funeral Home, New Bremen from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m Wednesday. The Eagles Auxilliary will hold a memorial services at 8 p.m. and a wake service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the New Bremen Emergency Squad.
