From The Bryan Democrat Jan. 30, 1914

September 10, 1835, in Defiance county,
Ohio, near Brunersberg, and at the time
of her death was 79 years, 4 months
and 7 days of age. Her father and mother
coming from Germany in 1834,
settled in Defiance county. She was married
to James BRACE Janyary 1, 1857,
and to that union was born seven children,
three daughters and four sons,
all of whom preceded her to the better land
save Mrs. Addie AUSTIN of east
Bryan St., Bryan, Ohio, and Mrs. Jennie
OLMSTEAD of Hicksville, Ohio, and
A. L. BRACE, formerly of Bryan, but who now
resides at Hudson, Mich. Her
husband, James BRACE, died January 14, 1867,
leaving her with seven small
children, the oldest of which was but nine years.
She resided in Springfield township on what was
known as the BRACE farm where she raised
to womanhood and manhood all her seven children,
and moved to Bryan in
1900, with her son, A. L. BRACE. She was one of
the pioneers of Williams
county, who are so rapidly passing away. She was
very patient in her last
illness, just falling asleep in the arms of Jesus.
She was a member of the
old Dunkard church for 50 years, being faithful
to the last. She leaves to
mourn her loss two daughters, one son, twentyfour
grandchildren and one
great grandchild. Funeral services conducted at
the AUSTIN home by the Rev.
