Funeral services held Monday for Mrs. Teunis Jansen
Funeral services were held at the First Reformed church here at 1:30 p. m. Monday, December 21, for Mrs. Teunis Jansen, 69, of Sioux Center, who died December 17 at a Cherokee hospital. Services were conducted by the Rev. Jack Boerigter and burial was made in the Sioux Center cemetery with the Coop Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The former Dena Zeutenhorst daughter of Herman and Jacoba Zeutenhorst, was born in Sioux Center, Iowa on May 24, 1901. She attended school and lived her youth in Sioux Center, Iowa.
She was united in marriage to Teunis Jansen of Sioux Center. Iowa on June 12, 1918 at Sioux Center, Iowa.
She passed away at the Chetoker Hospital of Cherokee, Iowa on Thursday, December 17, 1970 after a lingering illness, at the age of 69 years, 6 months and 23 days.
She is survived by her husband Teunis, 2 sons and 8 daughters. Cora, (Mrs. Arend Broek) of Sioux Center, Iowa; Edward of Sioux Center, Iowa; Ann (Mrs. Art Kammerman) of Orange City, Iowa; Hermina (Mrs. Willis Uittenbogasrd) of Boyden, Iowa; Cornie of Rock Valley, Iowa; Bernice (Mrs. Irvin De Vos) of Sioux Center , Iowa; Muriel (Mrs. Stanley Van Otterloo) of Orange City, Iowa; Harriet (Mrs. Eldon Tesch) of Orange City, Gerdena (Mrs. John Miltenberger) of Sioux City, Iowa; Thelma (Mrs. Michael Sandbulte) of Escondido, California; 33 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 3 brothers, Gerrit and John Zeutenhorst of Sioux Center, Iowa; Herman of Wyoming, Michigan; 2 sisters, Mrs. Bertha Koops and Mrs. Evert Binsbergen both of Artesia, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Jan and Jacoba (Westra), 9 year old daughter, Gerdena and 2 brothers.
