Mildred Elizabeth Puffer Kohl, 83, of Mount Vernon, died Wednesday morning in Hallmark Care Center, Mount Vernon. Services: 2 p.m. Saturday at Morgan Funeral Home, Mount Vernon, where friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday and after 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Burial: Lisbon Cemetery.
Survivors include a son, Delmar of Windsor, Mo.; and two daughters, Marilyn Crawford of Harrisburg, Pa., and Audrey Christenson of Mount Vernon.
Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond "Buzz" Puffer in 1990.
Born June 24, 1907, near Mechanicsville, she married Lloyd Kohl Sept. 25, 1929, in Nashua. He died in 1974. She attended Coe College and Iowa State Teachers College and had taught four years at Coon Creek and Black Oak Grove country schools near Lisbon. She and her husband farmed at the four-county corner near Lisbon until their retirement in 1964.
