HARVARD -- Harold M. Burton, 89, of Harvard, died Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at his home.
He was born May 11, 1913, in Harvard, to Earl and Hope Camille (Everts) Burton. He married Cora M. Wheaton on Aug. 29, 1934, in Chicago. She preceded him in death on Oct. 22, 1995.
He was a lifelong farmer in the stateline area. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Harvard and the Harvard Moose Lodge No. 1289.
Survivors include five children, Judy Schilthelm of Walworth, Wis., Dick (Judy) Burton of Harvard, Larry Burton of Sharon, Wis., Darlene (Joseph) Cools of Woodstock and Ken (Kathy) Burton of Sharon; 16 grandchildren, Steve (Lysa) Schilthelm, Scott (Glenna) Schilthelm, Kathy (Wade) Anderson, Karen (Ron) Howe, Sheila (Bryan) Grabowski, Todd Burton, Jackie (Ben) Link, Matt (Kristen) Burton, Alan Burton, Kelly Burton, Julie Cools, Beth (Jeff) Connelly, Christopher Stabla, Dan Cools, Jason Burton, and Zach Burton.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Seymour and William; and a sister Nellie Moore.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 5, at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St, Harvard.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Borgerson officiating.
Interment will be in the Mount Auburn Cemetery in Harvard.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
