Nancy worked most of her career in the Social Services industry. She retired in 2009 to be a full-time grandmother to her much-adored grandchildren. Nancy came out of retirement in 2011 to be a substitute teacher for the Brockton Schools were she was working at the time of her death. She died on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Northeast Montana Health Services, Poplar.
Nancy loved children and working with them at the school. Most of the kids called her "grandma." Nancy's family was her whole world. She lit up every time she saw her grandchildren and she had a smile that would make you melt. She was a wonderful woman with a heart of gold, and she loved getting together with family and friends. With her kind heart she was a great listener and always had the right words to say. Nancy enjoyed reading, playing cards, having coffee with her girlfriends and most of all being with her six grandchildren.
Nancy was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Poplar. She had a strong faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. She loved the Lord, and we know that she is looking down on us from Heaven.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Ron Wallis, Culbertson; her three daughters, Jean (Les) Rathbun, Rome, N.Y., LeeAnn (Stacy) Stangeland, Brockton, and Rhonda (Jason) Sorensen, Antelope; her three sisters, Linda (Ed) Joslin, Sidney; Kathleen (Ken) Nyquist, Montana, and Pattie (Wayne) Picard; and her six beloved grandchildren, Sierra, Dalton, Jaxon, Milo, Makenzie and Mya.
