Chick was the first full time pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Hendersonville and the longest serving pastor. He also was the pastor at Naples, Locust Grove, Arden, Pleasant Hill, Moriah, Saluda Friendship, Ebenezer, Brickton and Felloeship Baptist Churches. He was a veteran of WW II. Chick gave his life to serving the Lord.
For Twenty-five years he carried on

Brought help and understanding love
To rid the sin from all the world
To help us know that man above
So much like his father

Neither weak, neither timid
Neither selfish nor slow
He is blessed with six brothers
Five sisters, two sons
A wife so that's so loving
And friends, many ones
So God please bless him
