Tammy Lynn Nelson
Age 50, of Newark, DE, went home to meet her Savior on November 2, 2012, at the Christiana Hospital as a result of complications from diabetes.
Tammy was born in Lancaster, PA. She graduated from Oxford High School and from the University of Delaware with a BS in nursing. Tammy had worked as a nurse for Pediatric Associates, for Dr. Kim and had been a nurse for Elkton Christian Schools. She was a member of the Delaware Nurses Association. Tammy was also a member of Glasgow Baptist Church. Tammy loved life and fought hard to remain with her wonderful family.
She is survived by her husband, William G. Nelson, Jr.; her sons, William G. Nelson, III of Newark and his fiancé Jill Lively of Rising Sun, MD; Steven K. Nelson and his wife Katlyn of Elkton, MD, and Matthew A. Nelson of Newark; her parents, Kermit and Holly Greer of Newark, DE; her sister, Terri Holmes of Newark, DE; her 4 adored grandchildren, Peggy, Emma, Steven and Matthew Nelson; 2 uncles, 1 aunt, 2 nieces, cousins and many friends.
A funeral service will be held Thursday morning, November 8, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. at the BEESON FUNERAL HOME, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702 officiated by Dr. W. Grant Nelson of Glasgow Baptist Church. Burial will be in Gilpin Manor Memorial Park, Elkton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to American Diabetes Association , 100 W. 10th Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.
