Julia A. Haberkern, 80, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 15, 1918, in Lapeer, Mich. A resident for 37 years, she was a retired government secretary, a member of the Bernina Sewing Club, Senior Friends Association and the St. Patrick Guild of St. Viator Catholic Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol of Las Vegas and Sandy of Yuma, Ariz.; one brother, Arthur Shinske of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5-8 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
The family suggests donations to Catholic Services of Southern Nevada.
