Richard was 70 years old. He was a native of Hamlet, N. C. and the son of the late Paul S. Player and the late Kate Haselden Player. He was self employed as a TV repairman and was a member of the First Baptist Church in LaGrange, Georgia. Survivors include two daughters and one son in law, Sonja and Joseph Beavers and Jana Player all of Starkville, Miss; one son, Greg Player of LaGrange; one grandchild, Brandon Beaver of Starkville, Miss; five sisters, Helen Player of California, Deloris Mitchell of Orlando, Fla., Doris Goodin and Martha Johnson both of Americus, Georgia, Ollie Torporcer of Younges Town, Ohio; and two brothers, Paul Player, Jr., and Edgar Player both of Americus, former wife and Mother of his children, Marcia Jean Millwood Player of Lagrange, Georgia. Visitation was held on Nov. 30th at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel and graveside services were held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, Dec. 1st at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
