Jefferson Davis "J.D" Williams passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012, in Bowie, Texas.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at the First Baptist Church in Bowie, Texas with Mike Henson officiating.

Burial will follow at Brushy Cemetery in Bowie.

The will receive friends from 6:00 til' 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2012, at the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.

Arrangements are entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie.

J.D. was born January 12, 1924 to George and Eva Lee (McDaniel) Williams in Sunset, Texas. He graduated from Bowie High School in 1941, and served in the United States Army during World War II. J.D. moved to Fort Worth where he worked for Leonard's Department Store as a Linoleum and Tile Contractor. He married Billie Clark on August 15, 1942 in Bowie, Texas. J.D. owned and operated Williams Rental Golf Carts at Lake Arlington Golf Course and retired in 1995, and he and Billie moved to Bowie in 1997 where they made their home. He was a Deacon at Ryanwood Baptist Church for 44 years, and was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing 42.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Eva Williams; five brothers, Tom and Barney Jackson, Jim, Joy, and Clarence Williams; five sisters, Pearl Morris, Ilene Jackson, Bess Brasher, Faye Choakas, and Vesta Stegall.

J.D. is survived by his wife of 70 years, Billie Williams of Bowie; daughter, Mandy Skinner and husband, Shane of Mansfield; two grandsons, Aiden and Owen Skinner; four sister-in-laws, Yvonne Vaughn of Arlington, Bobbie Hollingsworth of San Antonio, Colleen Clark of Katy, and Wanda Clark of East; and numerous nieces and nephews.
