Zula was a registered nurse and co founder of the organization that became the Camden County Chapter of the American Cancer Society.

She was the only woman to serve two terms as president of the Camden County Medical Auxiliary of the American Medical Society of New Jersey.

Around 1924 she married Dr. Casselman. They had two children, Catherine and Arthur Jay Jr. Mrs. Casselman was quite active in civic affairs. She was the recipient of the NJ Woman of the year Award in 1949.
