INJURIES TO FORMER POLICE OFFICER HERE PROVE FATAL SUNDAY

"Adolph Shedivy, 41, former police officer here but who also operated a saloon and dance hall at Tisch Mills for years, died Sunday at the Holy Family hospital in Manitowoc of injuries he suffered while cranking his car at his home at Glenmore, Brown county, September 8.

"He was badly crushed against the wall of the garage and complications developed which caused his death. Mr. Shedivy was endeavoring to crank his car in the garage and did not notice that it was in gear. The machine drove forward and pinned him against the wall. He was removed to the hospital last Thursday and passed away there yesterday.

"The former policeman was born in Tisch Mills August 19, 1889, and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wencelaus Shedivy of Tisch Mills.

[NOTE: according to his WI Birth Index record, Adolph was born in Two Rivers, WI.]

About sixteen years ago, he was married to Carrie Stangel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stangel of Tisch Mills, who passed away in this city six years ago, leaving five small children.

"Mr. Shedivy disposed of his large farm in Tisch Mills ten years ago to enter business in this city. Later he was employed at the Aluminum Company, Plant No. 1, and from 1924 to 1926 was a member of the local police force.

"Departing the force, he left the city and purchased the property known as Stangel's Corners where he remained for three years, selling the saloon and dance hall to John Barta recently. Later, he was employed in Sturgeon Bay, and several months ago leased a saloon and dance hall in Glenmore, Brown county."
