Nathaniel "Buck" Hicks was born January 15, 1945 to Ida Mae (deceased) and Arthur Hicks, Sr. in Alexander City, Alabama.

At an early age he accepted Christ at Seleeta Baptist Church.

He was united in Holy Matrimony to Diane Harrell who preceded him in death.

He worked 41 years with the United States Army. He served in three wars: Vietnam, The Gulf War: Operation Dessert Storm and Operation Iraq Freedom.

He departed this life Monday January 23, 2012 at Russell Medical Center in Alexander City, Alabama.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving father, Arthur Hicks, Sr., three daughters: Joshlyn Benson, Monica Hicks, Naecole Culpepper and one son, Brian Hicks, all of Alexander City, AL; two living sisters: Diane (Leon) and Elaine Bailey (Tommy) of Alexander City, AL, a dearly departed sister, Dorothy (Burl) Holley, one aunt, Louise Ross of Chicago, IL, one uncle, Milton Harrell, Sr., six brothers: Allen (Clementine), Billie (Juliette) and Arthur Jr. (Genevieve), Mallie (Mary), Henry (Rebecca), Roger (Barbara), seven grandchildren, five sister-in-law, two brothers-in-law and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral service for Mr. Nathaniel Hicks will be Saturday, January 28,2012 at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery.
