Barbara Jean Thomas Ragland, 81, of St. Petersburg and Ft. Myers , Florida, and Carrollton, Georgia passed away on March 10, 2012. She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, married, J.W. Daniell and raised her family in Carrollton and Newnan Georgia. She married George Ragland in 1993 and they began a full-time Christian ministry, Wings of Victory International the following year.
She is survived by her sister, Sylvia Graham (Dick) of Matlacha, FL, her brother, George Thomas (Martha) of Carrollton, GA; her 4 children, Gail Floyd (Millard) of Newnan, GA, Patti Hernly (Philip) of Temple, GA, Jeanine Brawn (Curt) of Sarasota, FL, and Evan Daniell (Avis) of Ft. Myers, GA; her 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She is also survived by her husband’s 5 children – Debbie James (Christopher) of Challis, ID, Michael Ragland (Felicia) of St. Petersburg, FL, Gigi Guthrie (Sparky) of China Grove, NC, Tracy Korb (Don) of St. Petersburg, FL; 7 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George Ragland, and her infant son Ricky Daniell.
A graveside service will be conducted in Carrollton, Ga., at Carrollton Memorial Gardens, on Wednesday, March 14, 2:00 PM with Mr. Philip Hernly officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wings of Victory International, 3468 E. Riverside Dr. , Ft. Myers, FL 33916. Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel of Carrollton has charge of the arrangements.
