A memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, 2008, in Augustana Lutheran Church in Portland for Thelma Lillian Brandt of Portland, who died July 27 at age 86.

Thelma Lillian Alfstad was born Nov. 24, 1921, in Sheyenne N.D. and moved to the Portland area in 1937. She lived in Vanport and moved to Portland after the 1948 flood. She was a homemaker. In 1937, she married Fredrick Brandt; he died in 1964.

Survivors include her daughters, Karen Dawson, Karol Kiriluk and Shirley Pinker; son, Jim; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
