Edward F. Sandoval, 64, passed away June 7, 2008 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born December 31, 1943 in Springer, New Mexico to Filadelfio and Estella (Arellano) Sandoval, who preceded him in death. Ed was raised in Springer, where he attended school kindergarten through twelfth grades. He served his country in the U.S. Army immediately following High School graduation, from 1962-1963. Ed graduated from the University of Hawaii and received his Master's Degree from Western State University in Gunnison, Colorado. Ed met his wife, Marge in kindergarten. They were married in Springer, New Mexico in 1965. After living in Hawaii they settled and made their home in Colorado Springs. Ed taught Spanish at Mitchell and Doherty High Schools for 31 years. He was also a loved and respected coach of many sports, including golf, soccer and track. He made a positive influence in the many lives of the kids he touched. Ed is survived by his wife, son, daughter, 3 sisters, 4 brothers, numerous nieces, nephews and God-children. Our Dad, Ed, was an amazing presence of life. He was a wonderful husband, devoted dad and role model to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 11, 2008 from 3-5 p.m., Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs. A Vigil will be Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., St. Mary's Cathedral, 22 W. Kiowa, Colorado Springs. Mass of Christian Burial is Thursday, June 12, 2008 at 10:00 a.m., St. Mary's Cathedral. Private inurnment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation or to the St. Mary's Cathedral Renovation Fund.
